There were a total of 542 Acts of the 2009 Session of the Louisiana Legislature.  By clicking on the Bill # of a particular Act you can review the legislation.  All of the Acts, with the exception of the proposed Constitutional Amendments, will take effect on August 15, 2009, unless an alternative effective date is set forth.  You may note that some Acts bear the notation, “gov sig”, which indicates that the Act took effect upon signature of the Governor.  Generally the proposed Constitutional Amendments will be considered on the November 2010 ballot.  If you have any questions about the impact on parish government of any of the Acts listed, feel free to contact the Police Jury Association at 888-551-2835.
