Past President

Paul P. Naquin, Jr., past President is in his 16th term serving on the Executive Board having served as the Association President in 2011. He has served eight years representing District 2 as a single member councilman and six years as an at-large member representing District 9 on the St. Mary Parish Council. Paul was elected April 1, 2006, to serve as St. Mary Parish President and was re-elected in 2011 for another term. In 2016, Mr. Naquin was elected as Councilman At-Large for District 9 and is currently serving as its Chairman for the year 2017. He is a board member for the St. Mary and Vermilion Community Action Agency, and the Atchafalaya Basin Research and Promotion Board. He was appointed by Governor Jindal to serve on the I-49 South Feasibility and Funding Task Force. He also served on the St. Mary Parish School Board for eleven years. In 2013, Paul was named as Citizen of the Year by the St. Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce. In 1997, Paul retired from Texaco after 32 years of service.

Paul is a life-long resident of St. Mary Parish, residing in Baldwin for the past 58 years. He has been married to the former Sandra Biggs for the past 55 years. Together, they have three sons: Paul III, John, and Ladd. He has seven grandchildren: Kevin, Kassie, Morgan, Kade, Hunter, Luke, and Isabella; and two great-grandchildren, Decker and Blythe.
