1st Vice President

Eric B. Soileau is elected to the PJAL Executive Board as 1st Vice President. Soileau, a native of Evangeline Parish, is completing his 12th year as District 6 Police Juror. He has also been very active in his local community. He served two years as president of the local Reddell-Vidrine Water System. Also serving on the Evangeline Parish Library Board, and past C.E.O. of the Workforce Investment Board #40, he served two years as vice-president, and three years as president of the Evangeline Parish Police Jury. As a member of NACo, he serves on the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Steering Committee and the Rural Action Caucus Steering Committee. On the local level, Eric is a member of the Mamou Cajun Music Festival Association, Woodman of the World Fraternity, Knights of Columbus, Council #2675, Farm Bureau member and Saint Ann’s Catholic Church of Mamou.

Eric has been married 38 years to his high school sweetheart, Cathy Deshotel. They both graduated from Vidrine High School. They also owned and operated the Corner Store in Vidrine, a grocery and meat market for 13 years. Now, he is employed with T-Boy’s Slaugher House and Cajun Seasoning as an assistant manager.

Eric and Cathy Soileau have two daughters. Catrina is married to Cody and has one daughter, Ava, and one son, Gabriel. Tasha is married to Joshua and has two sons, Abram and Issac. Wow! Grandkids, what a joy!

Soileau is extremely proud to serve as the 1st Vice President!
