The Association is housed in its own building at 707 N. 7th Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has a full-time staff charged with the responsibility of keeping state and national public officials informed of the activities and issues of the parish governing authorities. Further, the staff gathers information that will benefit the membership and disseminates that information through periodic orientation and training seminars and conferences which it conducts throughout the state. The Association publishes news-letters, technical pamphlets, a directory of parish officials and the Police Jury Manual, as well as a semi-annual magazine, Louisiana Parish Government.
The Association also operates the Parish Government Risk Management Agency (PGRMA), an inter-local risk management agency that provides Workers' Compensation and Health and Hospitalization coverage programs for parish governments and affiliated entities.
