Director of Governmental Affairs
Ashley Porche-Tassin is the Director of Governmental Affairs. She is responsible for legislative advocacy, educational training and program development.
In 2008, Ashley began her work as a public servant
working for the Louisiana State University System- Office of Health Affairs and
Medical Education which included an integrated network of the 10 LSU safety net
hospitals, Health Care Services Center (New Orleans) and Health Sciences Center
(Shreveport). From there, she was selected
to participate in a one-year fellowship program in health administration
focusing on public policy and organizational management with the Franciscan Missionaries
of Our Lady (FMOL) Health System. She
remained there serving in a leadership capacity until transitioning to local
In 2011, she began her career with the Louisiana
Municipal Association serving as the Director of Communications were she was
responsible for the Associationís public relations, monthly publication known
as the Louisiana Municipal Review and
weekly Legislative Reports. She was
promoted as the Director of Research and Special Projects in which she also
assisted as a member of the Legislative Lobbying Team.
A native of Baton Rouge, Ashley earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Political Science and History from Louisiana Tech University
and a Masterís in Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy
from Louisiana State University.
Additionally, she holds a certification in Lean Six Sigma and serves as
a Malcolm Baldrige State Examiner.
